Introduction

This website was created with the intention of bettering the informational presentation of black holes. This website, besides containing all pertinent information about black holes, organizes it into several distinct sections: Introduction, Characteristics, Formation, Theories, Trivia, Kid's Section, and a Bibliography. Most pages found on the web do not organize their information well. Most found are simply one long page of statistics with no structure whatsoever.

  • The section entitled "Characteristics" is a hodgepodge of facts and information on black holes. This section covers such topics as the Schwartzschild radius, the event horizon, and singularity. In addition, it touches on the properties and classification of black holes i.e. super-massive vs. miniature.
  • "Formation" is a self explanatory link within the site. It covers all spectra of the formation of black holes. It begins with the living star and continues linearly until the formation of the black holes. In addition, there is a section that talks about black holes at the center of galaxies. These paragraphs talk about misnomers of black holes and current research being conducted to establish whether or not any black holes do exist at the center of galaxies.
  • There is also a section, "Theories", which covers the realm of Newtonian and Einsteinium gravity laws and their relativity to black holes. The main ideas under scrutiny in this section are Newton's laws of gravity and the introduction of Einstein's general theory of relativity.
  • One extremely special section in this website is the "Kid's Section". Found by clicking on the link on the home page, the kid's section is filled with easy to understand black hole information. From using pizza pie diagrams to second grade language, the kid's section breaks down complex ideas into small and understandable concepts.
  • Also included in our website is a "Trivia" section. This section gives the viewer an opportunity to test the knowledge that they have gained from the webpage. It is formatted in several different ways. From true and false questions to fill in the blank answers, this section tests the true knowledge capacity of every individual.
  • The "Bibliography" section of the website is a quick reference of sources to provide more information to the viewer. In addition to containing the list of sources at this location, they can be found on the specific pages to which they correlate. Above all other things, it is the great use of bibliography and resources that make this webpage more valid and reliable to most found currently on the web.

The original intention of this website was carried out to its fullest extent. In its current form, it provides a sound and established platform on which to build one's knowledge of black holes. In addition to the superiority of information, the layout and comprehensibility of this website make it far "stellar" to any found on the World Wide Web.

Did you know?
When you're at a reasonable distance from a black hole, it exerts gravity in the same way other bodies of mass do, just like a planet or our sun.
